Henry Says:
The Boys Who Cried "Fort Hood Terrorist"
What do you think? Is Maj. Hasan a terrorist or is that just the easy way out?
I joined the Army Reserves in 2001 at the age of 17. I found myself in Balad, Iraq from 2004-2005. I walked around Camp Anaconda and parts of Iraq with a camera in one hand and a notebook in the other. These are my scribbles about my experience in Iraq and returning home.

I think it's the easy way out because it overlooks other possible explanations. Not all people who kill people are Muslem terrorists and many disturbed people use religion to justify their actions. So if we assume he's a terrorist and say case closed, we give up the opportunity to discover other possible causes, which could help us find and stop other people who may NOT be Muslem from losing it and killing people.
Who's to say there's not another psychiatrist on the edge of flipping out but since he's not mumbling Allah and going to the mosque, nobody will notice?
By definition, a terrorist.
In reality, a guy that began his service almost 12 years ago and didn't expect to have to do anything in exchange for his free ticket to medical school.
My first reaction when hearing of the shootings was of a terrorist within the ranks. I'll wait to hear the evidence as it unfolds. Who knows how much information will be revealed as it appears there's already been some hasty cover-up action. I will say, if I hear one more commentator offer up the fact this shooter may never walk again, I'm gonna ralph. What's the network's point, are we to feel he's the victim??? Any bets a lawsuit for bodily harm is being prepared?
Ya know, I saw the HR post yesterday, but thought I'd read the article in the new VF issue. So like an eeediot, I surf through the issue twice thinking to myself, "Where the heck did she find this?" So I came back today to read on-line. I don't think I knew this VF site existed. Thanks Kate!
