Burn a flag, pay the price.
In Valley Falls, New York a young man was given three choices: get turned over to the police, go one-on-one in a fight with a seasoned war veteran, or be duct-taped to a flagpole for six hours with a sign around his neck identifying his alleged crime: flag burning.
The 21-year-old decided on being duct-taped to a flagpole for six hours.
Was his punishment over the top or did he deserve more?
I think it's fitting.

Duct taping him to a flag pole isn't really very harsh. There are plenty of slightly retarded college types who fancy themselves educated and at the same time wear a Che Guevara t-shirt and put down their own country for ideals which they know nothing about. This ass clown simply holds the same ideology too many people do and apathy of the masses probably caused few people to even really take note if they felt otherwise. What's the punishment if police are involved? Anything at all? With our current, self-loathing, Marxist regime I wonder. Minimal at best is my guess. I personally would have voted for a vigorous thrashing and then the duct taping to the pole.
Whether or not you agree with someone’s political speech does not matter; one of the reasons we put one the uniform was to protect people rights. This is simply violating someone’s civil rights.
The act of vandalism was what he should be punished for, It is NOT a crime to disrespect our flag (our flag is a symbol of ALL our rights) including the right to FREE speech, courts HAVE ruled that burning the flag is protected political speech...
Personally, I would never harm the flag, and will not ever allow it to touch the ground, and I a liberal Democrat fly OUR flag every day from my house....
If you can't tie a hippy to flagpole for an afternoon of mockery, the terrorists have already won.
