Don't Wanna See Your Face, You Better Disappear...
I know some of you are really touched by the death of Michael Jackson and I guess I can understand your attachment to your Thriller album but snap out of it. Wacko Jacko was an adult who knew that popping pills and not eating was horrible for ones health, right? He could've changed his habits with a little self-determination and by surrounding himself with people who wouldn’t feed his addictions. Yeah, I've read he had a shitty childhood and was forced to work nonstop...I get it but sometimes you just have to let the past be in the past. I saw a video on CNN where the House of Representatives held a moment of silence for Michael Jackson on Friday. Do they do this for the troops that have been killed everyday in Iraq or Afghanistan? I'm sure they'd have to come up with something a little more honorable to say about the soldiers who have passed...I mean, they can't commit on their "style of dancing." For the record, 11 U.S. soldiers and 331 Iraqi Security Forces and Civilians have been killed this month. Since June 25th, 14 U.S. soldiers have been wounded in action. There have also been 38 coalition military fatalities this month in Afghanistan. So this is my moment of silence for those who have passed and who have not been acknowledged…One day our backwards country might get the bigger picture, until then Michael Jackson will flood our televisions, websites, and the ones who should be recognized will continue to slip through our hands.
I could careless about Michael Jackson’s death...my heart goes out to those who have passed and to their families.

Damn fucking straight, especially if it comes back that he overdosed. Then everyone really should drop this faux-sadness that came out of nowhere. And Congress is on legislative recess too long to have a moment of silence for one fallen soldier, much less all of them.
Surprsingly, even FOX went wall to wall coverage on MJ.
My first thought when seeing the 'news' on the screen, now maybe Paul McCartney can get his music library back. Second thought, wonder how long we'll have to hear about who gets custody of those three beautiful kids and the knock-down, drag-out over the estate.
Individuals develop methods of coping with emotional garbage. Being rich and famous, surrounded by yes-men and enablers makes it so much easier falling into, accessing and remaining in the grips of substance abuse.
A moment of silence in the House of Reps turned my stomach. Stop the madness already.
The Military-industrial-CONGRESSIONAL complex causes too many fallen soldiers (and sailors and marines and aircrew and coast guards). Faux news just eggs it on.
Thanks, Kate. This Michael Jackson bullshit is pathetic.
Looks like the relatives of this fallen soldier who died in Obama's War are on the same page. And thanks to Fox News for reporting it.

My daughter had to watch Band of Bloggers for a Media and Culture class. I watched with her. This is where we found you, GI Kate. I've never been to a blog in my life, and found the poignant Michael Jackson posting my first visit. You are SO RIGHT. Priorities are askew. Band of Bloggers had an impact that will last a lifetime. Maybe instead of a moment of silence for a pop icon, the House of Representatives should watch Band of Bloggers. So from two women, one 20 and one 57, we admire and support you lady.
“Don’t you criticize Michael Jackson! He was never able to defeat the demons that controlled his bondage to hatred of his father. His father never loved him, only abused and used him. Michael had many weaknesses but he is my son! He was an extremely generous man. He supported hundreds of charities and opened a door for much help for Africa. Man looks on the outward appearance but I look on the heart.”Love God
