I don't know about you but I'm completely disgusted. Somethings will never make sense to me. Never. Maybe if some action have been taken hundreds if not thousands of U.S. military personnel could've been spared.

Kate, you've got to ask yourself why (the Pentagon neglected to fund anti-mine /ied protection).
Remember that the people who write the funding requests do not live on the road. It isn't their life on the line, it is their career on the line for rocking the boat.
I'm not an happier about this than you are. But, this is not a single fault issue. You would not believe, or maybe you would, the myriad of bs that goes into something like spending that much money. You can thank the crooked fuckers out there that skim off the top on major projects like that for slowing the process down. It'd be nice to think that people in high places can be trusted with dishing out big bucks for equipment, but you just can't do it.
That is what happened when the civillian control of the military shifted to replublican contractor control of the military, privatization has been a total cluster you know what...
