I joined the Army Reserves in 2001 at the age of 17. I found myself in Balad, Iraq from 2004-2005. I walked around Camp Anaconda and parts of Iraq with a camera in one hand and a notebook in the other. These are my scribbles about my experience in Iraq and returning home.

Both POW's when that convoy took that wrong turn at the beginning of the Iraq war.
Did I cheat????? The world may never know.
Jessica was a POW rescued by the SEALS :) I must admit I didn't know the second name. I am leaving this post to look her up and gain knowledge.
Jessica Lynch, rescued POW, lots of media coverage. Shoshana Johnson, familiar, but had to Google. Recalled the clips of her shuffling from the plane d/t the bilateral ankle wounds.
Yes, I certainly do remember them both. Both were captured together. The white blond got a whole rescue production staged about rescuing her. Shoshana is the African-American daughter of a career Soldier and a damned fine soldier in her own right, to whom I offer my most crisp salute.
Do I get a three day pass for knowing this without teh google?
blue girl,
haha yes. a three day pass to albany...so you can be bored out of your mind.
I know both but only becasue this boils mt blood more than damn near anything else.
Lynch -rescured by a specials forces Team (that took off two team members and replaced with video crew) from a hospital. The hospital attempted to return her but was turned away by gun fire from a military position. Has publiclally stated that she is no hero, but that SPC Lori Piestewa was(THAT is a name to know).
Lynch was scheduled to recieve full benefits.
Is a blond haired white woman.
Shoshana Johnson- was a POW with the men, not rescued, not given the attention or a TV show. Was scheduled to be given a lower percentage of benefits than Lynch. Is a woman of color.
As a side note, you should google Lavena Johnson.
