I joined the Army Reserves in 2001 at the age of 17. I found myself in Balad, Iraq from 2004-2005. I walked around Camp Anaconda and parts of Iraq with a camera in one hand and a notebook in the other. These are my scribbles about my experience in Iraq and returning home.

I don't watch his show either, but he was amazing here so I just might. More people need to call the media on the bull. I believe that people would want actual news if they were given it. Covering Iraq is challenging and complex; Heath Ledger is easy. (You remember how the station always went for the easy, pointless story rather than the meaningful and complicated one.)
All of the Heath Ledger coverage made me sick. He was just a guy who happened to be an okay enough actor and accidentally took too many (or the wrong) pills. News is supposed to mean something. It's supposed to inform and enlighten us.
news10 escapee? haha
Thanks Kate. He is so right and the coverage of this actor's death was nauseating. The casualty list is posted on various sites. I pull it up routinely, read the names and hometowns, and think of the families struck by grief. Recently, three young men from our state were lost in one month's time. So many citizens are just oblivious.
Take care of yourself,
Cathy B
